The National MAT Conference 2024 – Navigating cultural and political change

Current Landscape –

Multi-academy trusts are currently undergoing a period of significant change, largely influenced by a year filled with a significant culture change, and also an expected change in government in 2024/25.

This forthcoming political transition is poised to impact the education sector drastically, as it could lead to shifts in policies, funding, and priorities. Multi-academy trusts, which play a central role in the education landscape, are already preparing to adapt to these changes.

Following a year of industrial action and the ‘new age’ of workforce, there is a culture change taking place that Trust Leaders must navigate accordingly and ethically.

As they anticipate the political and cultural shifts, MAT leaders are positioning themselves to be resilient and flexible in responding to the changing political and cultural environment, whilst also ensuring they continue to provide effective and a high-quality education.

Key Objectives and Learning Outcomes –

The National MAT Conference 2024 on Thursday 7th March will look to deliver a number of outcome for Trust leaders, with a year of transition ahead of us in 2024, the conference is perfectly timed to address the pressing challenges and opportunities facing trust leaders.

The conference's central theme revolves around navigating the road ahead for the remainder of this academic year, but also looking ahead to 24/25 academic year. Trust leaders and keynote speakers will deliver a variety of sessions throughout the day focusing on:

  • Building a ‘new age’ people strategy that is achievable and ethical.
  • Key considerations ahead of a potential change in government (as surveyed by MATA members in 2023) and how this transition may impact the multi academy trust system.
  • How are trusts adopting AI and addressing challenges and questions amongst the wider trust workforce?
  • How could growth be impacted through 2024?
  • What is a ‘high quality trust’ and how can this be achieved?

Testimonials

Thank you once again for allowing us to exhibit and present directly in the afternoon to the MATs attending. I know it was a lovely day but weather aside it felt wonderful to be back face to face and your conference was so friendly and inviting. I could see the hard work everyone was doing to make it so successful

Department For Education

“the whole event was really well organised and the choice of speakers and the range of topics were of excellent quality.
As a supplier, it was great to gain insight to understand the issues and concerns when considering growing or merging MATs, where the priorities are focused and the key learnings for those CEOs who have gone through the journey.
I would recommend attending a future Convenzis conference or event, as the quality was first class.”

Education Buying

The National MAT Conference was a great first show for us and produced a number of quality lead opportunities.

Quality of the attendees/delegates was great. The Convenzis team were professional and approachable throughout, and special thanks to Daniel for helping us swap stand positions to incorporate the SMART IFP.

Conversations with the MAT delegates who attended our stand on the day were positive and it was good to understand where they were currently in their Digital transformation journey post-pandemic.

A really positive great show. Our partner, Elementary Technology Ltd, also concurred that the quality of the delegates that attended were the right people and those key decision-makers.

Aver
