AXREM has a Specialist Focus Group (SFG) that supports and represents members of the healthcare IT supplier industry who provide most of the diagnostic medical imaging IT installed in UK hospitals. This can be PACS, RIS, cloud based systems and teleradiology services.

The SFG members have unique knowledge, experience and insight into the workflow and challenges faced by healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis, which enables them to develop and offer innovative solutions to improve the speed and quality of diagnostic procedures and treatments with the ultimate aim of improving patient care.

We are pleased to announce that the group have been working hard on an Imaging IT Manifesto: Here to Enhance Patient Care and Improve Outcomes, that we will be publishing on Wednesday 2nd April with a special event at Bletchley Park. Bletchley Park was the headquarters of the British Military Intelligence Government Code and Cipher School during World War II. The estate employed 12,000 code breakers and staff. Bletchley Park was where Alan Turing and other agents of the Ultra intelligence project decoded the enemy’s secret messages, most notably those that had been encrypted with the German Enigma and Tunny.

The event is being sponsored by 3 headline sponsors:

Medihive - Medihive delivers innovative and sustainable software solutions, powered by a platform that puts the patient first. Our Diagnostic Imaging Solution streamlines workflows, reduces DNAs, and enhances provider-patient communication..

Sectra - With over 30 years of innovation and more than 2,500 sites managing 152 million annual imaging exams, Sectra is a leading provider to health systems worldwide. Sectra offers a complete enterprise solution comprised of imaging modules for radiology, cardiology, pathology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, genomics, and a robust VNA.

Soliton IT - Soliton IT is a privately-owned, UK company who have delivered systems to the NHS since 2004. They have grown their Radiology IT application portfolio to become a class-leading Radiology Information System  vendor.

We also have further sponsors of the event being:

Barco - who provide medical staff with the complete and most accurate picture, enabling more informed decisions, when and where it matters most.

Magentus - who are a global health technology company with deep expertise across clinical systems, specialist practice management and health informatics.

The Imaging IT manifesto will touch on the following:

- Cybersecurity

- Streamlining Workflows to Focus on Patient Care

- Pioneering Accessibility and Innovation

- Advocating for Supportive Policies

- Technology Adoption/ Integration and Innovation

- Standards, Best Practice and Policy

The event will have an exciting agenda including a speaker from the museum: Dr Thomas Cheetham, Historian at Bletchley Park who will talk about the history of codebreaking at Bletchley Park and how it is related to modern-day cybersecurity. We will also be welcoming David Lawson, Director of MedTech at The Department for Health & Social Care as well as many other speakers.

AXREM Chief Executive Officer, Sally Edgington said about the event and manifesto “At AXREM we like to try and do things a little differently, so an event at Bletchley Park is very exciting, we have a great agenda of speakers including Dr Thomas Cheetham, Historian at Bletchley Park who will talk about the code breaking. Attendees will also have the time and opportunity to visit all areas of the museum”.

“I am incredibly proud of our members who have worked hard to write a robust and informative manifesto with some very clear calls to action and will look forward to sharing is publicly on 2nd April”.

Note:

AXREM members supply the majority of diagnostic medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment installed in UK hospitals. In doing so, our member companies and their employees work side by side with Radiologists, Radiographers, Practitioners, Oncologists and a wide range of healthcare professionals in delivering healthcare to patients using our technologies.

Our members therefore have unique knowledge, experience and insight into the workflow and challenges faced by healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis, which enables us to develop and offer innovative solutions to improve the speed and quality of diagnostic procedures and treatments with our ultimate aim of improving patient care.

Although our members operate in a highly competitive commercial environment and in strict conformity with UK laws and regulations, certain issues such as this require focus and resolution on an industry-wide basis.
