AXREM the UK Trade Association representing the interests of suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment including patient monitoring are proud to announce that Sally Edgington has be selected on the 2025 Women in Trade Association Powerlist.

The Trade Association Forum, Confederation of Business Industry and The Federation of Small Businesses have once again joined forces to champion the role of Women in trade bodies, celebrate their achievements and encourage the next generation of women into the sector. To celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 the third Women in Trade Associations Powerlist has today been published celebrating the best, the most brilliant, and the most formidable female business and sector champions in the UK.

Sally Edgington, AXREM Chief Executive Officer has been recognised on the Powerlist, for the 3rdconsecutive year. Sally joined AXREM in March 2019 and has worked hard to grow the association which now represents over 75 companies, grow the member offering and value proposition but most importantly grow the work and visibility of the association, who are now recognised as the voice of the MedTech, imaging and oncology industry.

Under Sally’s leadership the membership has grown by over 350% in 6 years, the association has had meaningful conversations with government and the various relevant government departments, the association now has robust governance and a members code of conduct and the organisation has professionalised and become an open, transparent and highly visible organisation.

During her time at AXREM Sally has also significantly grown the staff team, member engagement and the activities that AXREM now undertakes including new special focus groups covering, AI, Patient Monitoring and Digital Pathology, facilitating strategy days and launching the associations Strategic Priorities 2025-27 with a parliamentary reception, all this work is future proofing and allowing for more growth and development.

Sally Edgington said upon hearing the announcement “I am immensely proud of being recognised on this powerlist for the third year running, but I must say that this really is a team effort by not only my all female staff team, but also our members, who all volunteer enabling excellent engagement using their expertise for the good of the industry, NHS and patients.

When I took on the role of CEO 6 years ago, whilst I knew it was a challenge I also knew it was a good opportunity, I would never have dreamt that AXREM would be the organisation it is today and it is something I will always be incredibly proud to have worked with my fabulous team and members to achieve, and a legacy I will always be proud of”.

Huw Shurmer, AXREM Chairman said “To see Sally recognised in this power list of women leaders for a third year is a testament to her extraordinary vision, dedication and leadership. This is not only driving success for our association but also inspiring future generations of women leaders.”

Note:

AXREM members supply the majority of diagnostic medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment installed in UK hospitals. In doing so, our member companies and their employees work side by side with Radiologists, Radiographers, Practitioners, Oncologists and a wide range of healthcare professionals in delivering healthcare to patients using our technologies.

Our members therefore have unique knowledge, experience and insight into the workflow and challenges faced by healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis, which enables us to develop and offer innovative solutions to improve the speed and quality of diagnostic procedures and treatments with our ultimate aim of improving patient care.

Although our members operate in a highly competitive commercial environment and in strict conformity with UK laws and regulations, certain issues such as this require focus and resolution on an industry-wide basis.
