Stockport Foodbank

From its 7 centres around the town, Stockport Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to all those who are facing ‘tough times’.  Clients attend the foodbanks on a referral basis having been assessed by ‘caring professionals’ such as social workers, schools, NHS staff, Council advice staff, and each client is given, free of charge, a 3 day food parcel sufficient for all the members of their household.  As well as tinned and packaged goods they also receive baby supplies, hygiene products plus fresh fruit and vegetables.  All foodbank centres are staffed by volunteers and we are extremely grateful for all donations of food and finance that we receive from companies and individuals alike.
