The MAT Growth Conference 2022

The government has now set out a vision in the recent Schools Whitepaper that all schools “will be part of strong trusts by 2030”, either part of one or in the process of joining.

“The MAT Growth Conference” will be supporting trusts through this journey by delivering an agenda filled with guidance and best practice, answering the overarching question “how do we deliver sustainable growth?”.

The Department for Education is also committing up to £86m in trust capacity funding over the next 3 years, focusing in particular on “24 education investment areas of the country”. The TCaF funding application window opens from 1st April – to 30th June, meaning “The MAT Growth Conference” is a timely platform for MAT leaders to listen, learn and engage with some of England’s most accomplished and pragmatic academy trust leaders.

The virtual conference will aim to provide MAT Leaders with tangible guidance, case-studies and address challenges on how to drive growth within your trust, with also a look ahead to how mergers will play a key part in the coming years.

Join us at “The MAT Growth Conference 2022”, which will provide a timely platform for MAT leaders to listen, learn and engage with some of the UK’s leading academy trust experts in the country.

Sessions delivered on the day will be topics around:

  • How to build and develop into an effective trust leadership team that can deliver sustainable growth.
  • Discuss the recent School’s Whitepaper and what this means for your trust.
  • How does your proposal change when approaching new schools to your trust post whitepaper release?
  • The role of mergers is a key vehicle of growth in the coming years.
  • Growing your trust beyond a single geographic location.
  • Where to start with mergers? What are the benefits and challenges of going through the merging process?
  • Centralising financial and back-office processes to increase your efficiencies as a trust.
  • The importance of marketing through stages of growth, facing challenges of parental and staff engagements.

We will also look at Chapter 4 of the White Paper titled ‘A stronger and fairer school system’ and consider the likely impact on the education system as the outcomes from consultations, and legislation, take effect. **5 Minute Q&A included**

Website Systems to Support MAT Growth

Mark Davis
Sales Director
Blue Apple Education
In this session we work through the challenges and frustrations faced by MATs when looking to maximise the economies of scale of standardising a website system across all of their schools. We look at how to ditch the cycle of rebuilding school websites every 5 years and the cost and time savings that this can create. We will also investigate how your website system should provide another positive element to your offer to prospective new schools and how centralised document distribution, staff training and content support can be managed to reduce wasted time and funding. A standardised website system does not mean standardised visual design and we will also show how school brand character can be maintained whilst developing the Trust brand and messaging. **5 Minute Q&A included** Mark Davis, Sales Director at Blue Apple Education (Confirmed) **5 Minute Q&A included*

Attracting and retaining staff in a growing MAT/Academy

Errol Comrie
Headteacher
City Heights Academy
Despite 45% of large MATs telling us career development and CPD was the most important aspect (outside salary) that they offered to staff, 50% of education professionals (according to HAYS National Director, March 2022) said that “they felt like they didn’t have scope for career progression in their current organisation”. Therefore, it’s important to address this discrepancy so you can attract and secure the best teachers and staff for your MAT and education setting. **5 Minute Q&A included**

Testimonials

Thank you once again for allowing us to exhibit and present directly in the afternoon to the MATs attending. I know it was a lovely day but weather aside it felt wonderful to be back face to face and your conference was so friendly and inviting. I could see the hard work everyone was doing to make it so successful

Department For Education

“the whole event was really well organised and the choice of speakers and the range of topics were of excellent quality.
As a supplier, it was great to gain insight to understand the issues and concerns when considering growing or merging MATs, where the priorities are focused and the key learnings for those CEOs who have gone through the journey.
I would recommend attending a future Convenzis conference or event, as the quality was first class.”

Education Buying

The National MAT Conference was a great first show for us and produced a number of quality lead opportunities.

Quality of the attendees/delegates was great. The Convenzis team were professional and approachable throughout, and special thanks to Daniel for helping us swap stand positions to incorporate the SMART IFP.

Conversations with the MAT delegates who attended our stand on the day were positive and it was good to understand where they were currently in their Digital transformation journey post-pandemic.

A really positive great show. Our partner, Elementary Technology Ltd, also concurred that the quality of the delegates that attended were the right people and those key decision-makers.
