NHS Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Intrapreneurship
This event is for anyone interested in innovation, entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship. Contrary to common belief, the NHS has a long history of innovation and entrepreneurship. For example, the late Dr Jean Shanks, from 1925 to 1999, enjoyed a successful parallel career as an NHS clinical pathologist and innovative entrepreneur by founding her own pathology company and improving certain lab test times from days to hours.
Dr Shanks is one of many historical and present NHS professionals who have achieved success in medicine and business. They are the inspiration for this event. This event is NOT based on academic theory; the event Chairman and speakers all believe that innovation, entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship are analogous to swimming, ‘you can’t learn it or teach it from a book.’
So, what will you learn? You will learn ‘the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.’ The Chairman and speakers will provide a no-holds-barred tour of reality, sharing their knowledge, experience, and methods to succeed. Topics include:
