Alan Deacon

Highly experienced senior leader with a 34-year career in healthcare diagnostics, principally Pathology services, across both the Public and Private sector. Currently working as part of the NHS Wales Executive and responsible for the transformation and strategic development of National Pathology services supporting both acute and community agendas. The role is complex and multi-faceted, encompassing thirteen different disciplines, each presenting with their own challenges and opportunities. In addition to providing clear and professional leadership to enable these services to develop, I have a vision to engender an ethos with the Health Boards in Wales of collaborative solution focus to support improvement in the quality of Pathology services across the country and eradicate inequalities in access to diagnostics.
