Alexandra Lipton

Alexandra Lipton qualified as a diagnostic radiographer in 1989, during her clinical career she worked in the NHS, Independent and Research sectors, gaining experience in all aspects of radiography before specialising in MRI and then moving into management positions.

Alexandra joined the society of Radiographers as a professional officer in 2010 leading for the organisation on all matters related to MRI this includes overseeing the work of the MR advisory group and ensuring radiographic representation in initiatives related to MRI by engagement with other professional bodies and regulatory organisations. Her role also covers supporting the development of senior service managers,  initiatives from this role include developing the programme for the annual national conference for radiology leaders , NCRL( previously NCRM), developing a bespoke training course for radiographers interested in pursuing management as a career option and more recently managing the Society of Radiographers Leadership mentoring scheme.

Alexandra also takes a lead role for the College of Radiographers in all matters related to quality in imaging services. She has overseen two major reviews of the Quality Standard for Imaging (and its previous iteration Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme) and led for both colleges on the development of the Quality Standard for Imaging Networks, working closely with colleagues at the RCR.
