Amy currently works as Clinical Manager in MLCSU Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Personalised Healthcare Commissioning Service where she leads a team of specialist nurses working with people with complex mental health needs and learning disabilities and autism. Her team deliver assessments for Continuing Healthcare and Section 117 and provide support for Personal Health Budgets and complex case management.
She has an extensive clinical background as a Registered Nurse - Learning Disability including enhanced assessment skills on personalised communication strategy, based on a holistic model of assessment using an MDT approach. Her areas of expertise include Positive Behaviour Support, Person Centred Care, autism, personality disorder, sensory needs and communication strategies. She has additional skills and awareness of the Mental Capacity Act, Best interests’ assessments, Court of Protection and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
