Art Calder

Art has been registered as a Mental Health Nurse for over 40 years; further qualifying as a teacher (University of Manchester) in 1990 and is a graduate in Health Sciences from Wolverhampton.

Art’s unique ‘whole system experience’ has included terms as Divisional Lead Nurse (Mental Health) across South Manchester, Practice Development Facilitation within a care home consortia and health advisor to Cheshire County Council before ending his NHS career as Strategic Commissioning Lead with the Cheshire Primary Care Trust collaboration in 2012.

As owner of CHARM Healthcare Solutions (UK) Ltd and Chief Nurse with CHS Healthcare, Art developed and led the largest independent NHS Individualised Commissioning service across the UK, with the Clinical Services team providing services across 85% of the NHS geography in England and Wales, before merging CHS with the Acacium Group in 2021.

Since 2024, Art has provided expert workforce educational support , audit and strategic management to the Health and Social Care communities, both in stakeholder and provider circles.

Art supports the NHS audit process through his partnerships with Multi Health Specialists Ltd, and NHS MIAA audit services.

His advocacy services provide specialist advice to individuals (and Local Authorities) struggling to navigate the complex process of NHS Continuing Healthcare
