Hailing from a family of tech industrialists and medical thought leaders, Björn possesses a native drive and understanding for applying technologies to solve challenges in healthcare. Björn completed his B.Sc. at European Business School in Oestrich Winkel before joining the London School of Economics (LSE) for his M.Sc. He conducted several years of postgraduate research at Harvard University and the University of St. Gallen. In 2013, he co-founded caresyntax, a MedTech company based in Berlin. Over the past few years, caresyntax has become the leading developer of surgical intelligence technologies. Today their technologies are used in more than 8,000 operating rooms worldwide, and support surgical teams in over 13 million procedures per year. Recently, caresyntax announced the free roll-out of its software to enable hospitals to better manage critical care capacities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
