Executive Director of Professional Policy, The Society and College of Radiographers, UK.
Charlotte is the Executive Director of Professional Policy (EDPP) of the Society and the College of Radiographers (SCoR). She is a Past President of the SCoR and Past President of the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS). Charlotte is an honorary member of the Royal College of Radiologists.
Charlotte has over 40 years of experience as a Radiographer, qualifying in both Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiography at Guys Hospital, London. Charlotte has held clinical, research, project and leadership positions in the NHS and private sector and is currently part of the Executive team at the SCoR working with its UK Council and the College Board of Trustees.
In her role as EDPP, Charlotte provides expert, professional leadership to support the development of the radiography workforce in the UK. She’s responsible for leading the professional and education team at the SCoR who both support and produce guidance for the radiography profession, specifically in the areas of professional practice, education, and research.
Charlotte works extensively and proactively with UK government agencies, other professional organisations, and charities. She co-chairs the national NHS England Advancing Practice Programme Board for the multi-professional workforce within the Centre of Advancing Practice, NHS England.
Charlotte has contributed to international working parties, including with the World Health Organisation and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and also to multiple projects supporting radiography workforce development across Europe.
Charlotte was honoured to be appointed as Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Kings New Year Honours list in January 2024 for Services to Radiography.
