Chris Sylvester

Chris is the founder of Getting Clean CIC, a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation that changes the perception of addiction within society and helps to tackle environmental issues within communities. His motivations lie in supporting and helping people with offending and addiction issues using lived experience as an opportunity to help those still suffering. His current responsibilities require him to maintain healthy relationships with members of society who require help to overcome issues associated to addiction. He is passionate about the propagation of values of abstinence based recovery, desistance of offending and self-development. His past experiences of problematic drug misuse, the criminal justice and prison system and social issues is what fundamentally drives him to help others achieve what seems impossible. With personal experience of addiction and drug recovery, he is able to empathise with people who have addiction problems to help them overcome their barriers to happiness and abstinence.
