Elaine Jenkins

Elaine has been working as the Interim Lead for the Independent Portfolio Route over the last year. The role draws on her experience as the Head of Standards and Equivalence Lead at the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).

Elaine joined the AHCS in September 2016 as an advisor, focusing on its quality assurance function in the education and training of Healthcare Science practitioners at all levels . She became the Head of Standards in March 2018 expanding her role to be the Academy’s lead for the Equivalence assessment processes. She is also currently working with the National Institute for Health Research on the recognition of Clinical Research Practitioners.

Previously, Elaine has worked in a variety of quality and governance roles in higher education for more than 25 years. She has experience of being on both sides of the quality assurance table, having worked at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), and as a university quality manager. Elaine has also worked with several universities and private higher education providers to develop or review their QA systems, both in the UK and overseas. She has been fortunate to also work with several international quality assurance agencies developing their regulatory system and training their assessors.
