Programme Delivery Lead
National Mental Health Team
Emma joined the Health Education England (HEE) National Mental Health Team as Programme Delivery Lead with a focus on workforce transformation and new roles. This includes leading the work programme to develop the advanced practice within mental health.
Emma has come to the national team from HEE Thames Valley where she held the position of Workforce Transformation Lead, leading the workforce transformation agenda in relation to Mental Health and Learning Disability, Urgent and Emergency Care and Advanced Clinical Practice. In addition, she facilitated implementation and development of the Nursing Associate role. Emma held the position of Senior Responsible Officer for Mental Health across the South East.
Prior to moving to the National Mental Health Team, Emma worked closely with stakeholders from across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West to support the Integrated Care System to develop a strategy to grow, develop and transform the health and social care workforce.
Emma has 20 years’ experience of working within the NHS. Starting her NHS career working within public health, Emma then moved into workforce development, as a Widening Participation Lead for the Thames Valley Strategic Health Authority. Moving to work for HEE, Emma worked initially as a Senior Education Commissioning Manager and then Workforce Transformation Lead.
Emma has an MSc in Leadership and Management (Health and Social Care).
