Jane Brady

Jane began her nursing career as an acute paediatric nurse and progressed through roles including Staff Nurse, Senior Staff Nurse, Ward Sister and Practice Development Nurse. In the latter role, she supported and mentored staff and students on the acute children’s ward in Wrexham at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).

Jane moved into clinical informatics in 2018, focusing on the design and implementation of digital systems that support clinical practice. She led the implementation of the Acute Adult Welsh Nursing Care Record (WNCR) across BCUHB and contributed to the development of other digital platforms. She also contributes to national programmes through groups that bring together colleagues from across Wales to shape the development and delivery of digital healthcare initiatives.

Jane jointly leads a multidisciplinary Clinical Informatics team of nurses, midwives and pharmacists, working in partnership with medical colleagues, allied health professionals, operational teams and digital specialists. As a graduate of the Florence Nightingale Leadership Programme, she promotes collaborative working, staff development and continuous improvement across the team.
Jane currently provides senior clinical informatics leadership across major digital transformation programmes at BCUHB, including ePMA, the All-Ages Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Electronic Health Record, and new digital records for paediatrics and midwifery. She works with clinical, operational and digital colleagues to ensure these systems are safe, clinically appropriate and embedded into everyday practice, with clear governance and a focus on delivering lasting benefits for patients, staff and services.
