Jardine Barrington Cook

Jardine is a software engineer who has worked throughout his career to facilitate the wider societal benefits of technology. Working in a range of industries from media, with the BBC’s Domesday Project, aerospace, with the European Space Agency’s Huygens probe or health with the NHS’s national programme for IT.

As director of healthcare IT  at Care UK he was the driving force behind a ground up transformation including a bespoke Data Warehouse, Multiple EPR implementations, and radical workflow improvements  substantially benefiting NHS waiting lists.  He has evaluated and implemented AI systems in multiple technologies and industries, including publishing, healthcare decision support and visual interpretation of lateral flow tests.

Jardine is now Head of Interoperability and Data in the Health, Support and Care division of the Access Group. Here he is responsible for the initiatives to join Health, Social Care and Local Government systems to provide seamless IT support across the entire care continuum.

He is a Chartered Engineer, and registered European Engineer, as well as a fellow of the British Interplanetary Society.
