Lauraine trained as a nurse 33 years ago in a small school of nursing going on to develop her career around Emergency Care Nursing in various departments throughout the country. Around 20 years ago, she progressed into the role of Emergency Nurse Practitioner, eventually leading to a Master’s degree in Advanced Practice.

She has developed Emergency Nurse Practitioner programmes, leading on the provision, education, development, and supervision of trainees within Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust. In addition, she was the Matron of Urgent and Emergency Care providing a leadership, clinical expertise, and supervision within the organisation.

Lauraine is currently the Clinical Lead for the Faculty of Advanced Practice within Health Education England for the North East and North Cumbria and in addition the project lead for advanced clinical practice within Northumbria Healthcare Foundation trust.
