Leah Sugarman

Emergency Medicine Consultant
Senior Clinical Decision Maker, South West London ICC

Dr Leah Sugarman is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Senior Clinical Decision Maker within the South-West London Integrated Clinical Coordination (ICC) service. She previously served as Clinical Lead for the South-East London ICC, working closely with the London Ambulance Service and partners across acute and community care to support senior clinical decision-making, develop alternative care pathways and reduce avoidable conveyance to Emergency Departments. Alongside her Emergency Department and ICC work, Leah continues to work in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine, including as one of the Crowd Doctors at Fulham Football Club. Her clinical interests span the breadth of acute and emergency care, with a particular focus on complex decision-making and managing risk outside the traditional hospital setting. Leah has deliberately pursued a varied career that combines frontline Emergency Medicine with roles that offer a broader perspective on how patients move through the urgent and emergency care system. She is particularly interested in the relationships between different parts of that system, and how greater collaboration across organisational boundaries can improve both patient care and the way services are delivered.
