Lyndsay Muirhead

Clinical Sustainability Project Lead
UCLH

Lyndsay is the Clinical Sustainability Lead for UCLH, responsible for Net Zero Clinical Activity and Staff Education and Engagement. She is a diagnostic radiographer by background, having practiced in a variety of clinical specialities before undertaking her Masters of Public Health. Lyndsay has contributed to several publications exploring sustainable care provision, including low-carbon theatres and reducing the carbon footprint of dental sedation, and was a subject matter expert in the NHS England Nitrous Oxide Waste Reduction Toolkit.

Lyndsay is a co-investigator of the NIHR-funded study “Childbirth, Choice and Climate Change”, which is aiming to identify and implement opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint of gas & air in maternity units across NHS England whilst maintaining choice and promoting excellent care.

She also has a particular interest in the health impacts of climate change and the adaptation and resilience of clinical services in a changing environment, and co-chairs the North Central London Climate Adaptation, Resilience and Air Quality Group.
