Miss Andrea Sott

Orthopaedic Consultant
St Helier and Epsom

After graduating from medical school in Germany Miss Sott subsequently completed 10 years of basic and higher Surgical Orthopaedic Training in London on the SW Thames Training Programme.
She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Orthopaedic Association, the British and American Foot and Ankle Surgery Society with entry into the GMC’s Specialist register as fully trained and specially qualified Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon in 2004. She has published several papers in her field and outcomes of her Foot and Ankle work has been presented at BOA and BOFAS as well as EFORT Meetings.

In 2004 Miss Sott joined Epsom & St Helier University Hospital NHS Trust as a Consultant Surgeon for Trauma, general Orthopaedics and Foot/Ankle Surgery. She is an active and enthusiastic Trainer for Juniors and Allied Professionals as well as a Senior Examiner and Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons in London. Currently Miss Sott is the Clinical Director for the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department at the Trust- having just completed the Senior Clinical Leaders programme 2018 at the Kings Fund London Miss Sott is being approached for an Associate Medical Director position from 2019.

The pilot project for an Orthopaedic/trauma in reach service into High Down Prison started in November 2017- a direct result of clinical difficulties in providing timely and planned good quality care to inmates within restricted resources of prison service and transport system. It has so far proved a resounding success and the early data are shared at 6th Health & Justice Summit: Partner Opportunities in Liverpool 2019.
