After graduating from Cambridge University, Mr Sarkar underwent medical training at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’ in London. His higher surgical training was through the London Deanery, when he gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. His PhD (University College London) and was awarded in Vascular surgery and his Certificate of Completion of Training in General Surgery. He has published widely in nanocomposite compliant graft development as well as arterial tissue engineering. As a specialist Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust; he has established a pioneering complex diabetic foot multidisciplinary unit and has an interest in wound management and amputation avoidance.
