Nicola Williams

Nicola Williams is the Scientific Lead for the Scottish Strategic Network for Genomic Medicine (SSNGM).

Nicola has over 27 years’ experience of working in NHS genomics healthcare laboratory services across the UK. She has a particular passion for translational developments and innovation, moving genomics research into diagnostic service delivery.  In her current post, Nicola is responsible for the scientific leadership of the network and leads a genomics transformation team working across Scotland to transform the genomics laboratory services to ensure they are fit for future delivery models.

The SSNGM is a pan-Scotland network which has been established to provide a seamless, fully considered, sustainable and upscale-able genomics service for Scotland for the future.  It brings together NHS genomics healthcare services across Scotland and many different individual genomics groups and partners into a single network.  The SSNGM draws on existing skills and experience across Scotland and other parts of the UK to ensure it offers maximum benefit for our patients and partners in Scotland.
