Rachel Melton

I am a dedicated and compassionate healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience in mental health and complex care services. My journey began with a BSc in Forensic Psychobiology, followed by qualification as a Mental Health Nurse in 2008. I have since held clinical, managerial, and strategic leadership roles across acute, secure, community, and commissioning settings.  My career includes significant achievements such as opening and managing a care home rated 'Outstanding' in all areas by the CQC, and leading the transformation of a previously underperforming All Age Continuing Care (AACC) and Individual Patient Activity (IPA) service into one of the highest-performing teams within the Integrated Care Board (ICB).  I am passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care, and driving system-wide improvements. With a strong focus on governance, innovation, and outcomes, I consistently work to empower individuals, support staff, and influence effective and sustainable care delivery across mental health, learning disabilities, and continuing care services.
