Public Health Advisor & Social Prescribing Lead
His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS)

Rob leads the probation facing work for HMPPS’s Public Health Team.  He supported the probation services’ response to the pandemic including developing the first guidance for Approved Premises (formerly probation hostels) on the management of communicable disease. He now leads social prescribing, the development of Legionella Guidance for Prisons and Young Offender Institutions in England; on HMPPS’s contribution to the progression and delivery of NHSE/I’s Hepatitis C virus (HCV) Elimination Programme; and provides leadership and delivery support to cross agency work to improve prisoners' diet and nutrition and develop broader work on healthy weight for prisoners.

Rob’s background includes developing the first ever Probation Alcohol Strategy and NOMS Alcohol Interventions Guidance. His work on substance misuse included leading on mutual aid assisting those with lived experience to deliver vital services within prison establishments.
