South East region

Sarah is a proud NHS family member with a 30-year clinical career in nursing, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, acute and critical care medicine, with considerable experience in education and service leadership.

Sarah is a positive advocate and champion for human factors and interprofessional team working, always seeking out opportunities to learn from, about, and with each other. She is a visiting lecturer and simulation faculty member at Brighton & Sussex Medical School.

For the last three years, Sarah has been a member of the HEE Workforce Transformation team across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex as the Advanced Clinical Practice Programme Manager leading on multi-professional advancing practice roles within the current and future health and care workforce.

Sarah has worked in partnership with healthcare providers across different settings, Higher Education Institutions, and commissioners to enable greater awareness and understanding of this level of practice, and the support and the education preparation required for creating structures and governance for advanced practice roles. Sarah is also passionate about supporting trainees and practitioners working at an advanced level.

Through curious conversations and collaboration, Sarah helps stakeholders identify where advancing practice roles may be best placed within services and across systems.

Sarah is excited to now be working closely with colleagues across the South East region to shape the Advancing Practice Faculty to meet the needs of local people.
