Temba Ndirigu

Head of Clinical Development (Nursing)
Leeds Community Healthcare Trust

I have worked in the NHS since 2002 – starting as a staff nurse in an acute setting, then progressing further as a Nurse Practitioner in a nurse led Community inpatient Unit. I’ve been a Community Matron since 2010 within Leeds Community Healthcare Trust, a position I held until April 2023, then seconding to Leeds Covid Vaccination programme as Cultural Diversity Lead, before returning as Head of Clinical Development for Nursing within the Adult Business Unit, with oversight of the Virtual Frailty Ward (referred to as Homeward in Leeds). I work as a clinician within the Leeds Virtual ward and have done so since its inception, from the test phase as a project, to where it is now as business as usual, helping to develop and grow the ward over the years. I am also now responsible for imbedding the four pillars of advanced clinical practice within LCH as well as developing new career pathways for nursing and non-affiliated healthcare professionals.
