Vanessa is Deputy Director of Specialised Mental Health, Learning Disability / ASD and Health and Justice for NHS England, South East Region and has worked for over 30 years in the NHS. Vanessa has been responsible for commissioning health and justice services across the South Region and latterly the South East Region since its transfer from the prison service to the NHS in 2006.
Vanessa has a clinical background as a psychologist and has worked at both regional and national levels. Vanessa has led and overseen many transformations in both specialist mental health and criminal justice health services – implementing 9 Specialist Mental Health Provider Collaboratives across the South East Region and latterly leading NHSE’s input into the National Women’s Prison’s Health and Social Care Review which we anticipate being published this Autumn (2023).
