Steed Consulting was established in 2007, by Janice Steed after over 30 years in the NHS as a midwife and then senior leader and board director, with a strong focus on leadership and the generation of cultures where individuals and teams can not only survive but thrive.

For the last 15 years Janice has provided Organisation Consultancy, Facilitation, Coaching and Supervision, having achieved a master’s degree in Organisation Consulting and a post graduate degree in Advanced Coaching and Organisation Consulting Supervision, with Ashridge Business School.

Now, mainly working with clinicians and experts who find themselves running and growing businesses as well as maintaining their professional expertise and the wider demands which come from operating in an environment such as the NHS, the focus is on providing the support to enable the navigation of complexity, build resilience, positively change, and adapt. Examples of what we do are:

Working with leadership teams to develop and implement organisational changes for merger, growth and or re-design.

Facilitating GP practice and clinical leadership development programmes, as well as stakeholder meetings, consensus projects and away days.

Coaching those taking on a new leadership role, making personal or professional change, struggling with relationships, personal effectiveness, overwhelmed, or lacking purpose.

Primary care is under pressure to transform; to meet demand, access, recruitment, retention, quality improvement, bring in additional roles, and maintain working partnerships. Investment in resilience measures such as coaching and development programmes, are essential for the continued sustainability of primary care with the GP practice model at its heart.
