Based in Manchester, children’s charity MedEquip4Kids improves the health of babies and children in the UK by providing equipment not available from limited NHS resources and delivering mental health workshops in schools. Since 1985 the charity has raised over £24 million and last year our work benefited the health of 93,600 young people. Our projects include:
- Additional medical equipment such as neo natal monitors, incubators, pulse oximeters, phototherapy units and vein scanners.
- Enhanced environments to calm and distract children, giving them a better experience of hospital treatment. These include multisensory rooms, soft play areas and sensory gardens.
- Specialised equipment such as walking frames and learning stations to give children with disabilities greater mobility and independence.
- Resources including books, toys and games for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
- The Hummingbird Project, our six-week course for schools developed with psychologists at the University of Bolton to improve children’s mental health.
