NHS Estates & Facilities Conference 2021: Managing demand and innovation
The Convenzis NHS Estates and Facilities Conference series provides, policy-led, updates based on the current challenges and issues being faced by estates and facilities managers and leaders across the UK.
- The NHS Maintenance backlog bill has risen to over £9 Billion
This is measured by how much would need to be invested to restore a building to an optimum level based on a series of assessed risk criteria, it does not include planned maintenance work. The latest figures show that the bill for backlog maintenance in the NHS has risen from £6.5 to £9 billion in the space of a year.
Over half of the backlog of work needed is classified as of high or significant risk, which means it could impact the safety of NHS patients and staff.
In response to this, in 2021/22, the NHS capital budget has been increased to begin work on new hospital buildings, hospital upgrades, and replace old diagnostic equipment and make further progress on mental health inpatient facilities.
Our NHS Estates & Facilities Conference 2021: Managing demand and innovation will provide a timely platform for NHS estates leaders to meet and discuss some of the most pressing issues being faced today.
Best practice sessions will provide you with ideas and solutions that can help you drive productivity and improved outcomes for your organisation.
