Alison is a trainee health psychologist at The State Hospital, Lanarkshire as part of the NHS Education for Scotland funded health psychology training programme. The hospital is a high-secure mental health hospital for male patients from Scotland and Northern Ireland. As part of her role, Alison delivers one-to-one and group weight management interventions within the inpatient setting and is involved in the development and facilitation of a new healthy lifestyle intervention for patients with intellectual disabilities. As well as this, she facilitates NHS MAP of Behaviour Change training to health and social care professionals within the hospital and has delivered classes on health psychology practice to the MSc Health Psychology classes at the University of Aberdeen and the University of Stirling.
