Dean Gordon, Jamaican born, headteacher of a Lewisham Primary School and have been for the past 7 months. Previously, I was Head of School at the same school in the Federation since 2016.
Over the years I have worked with 5 Executive headteachers, all of whom have different styles and visions of the school/federation. I have been asked on occasions, “Why have you stayed since most people have left?” The answer is simple:
I am resilient and I have a voice. I fight! The children and families in my care do not have the voice. I am their advocate. They trust me. I am doing this for them.
