After 30 years in British Network TV, most of those as a documentary film and video editor, a health challenge in January 2010 brought working life to a halt. Already very involved in local community projects as a volunteer, the opportunity to set up and run a rural Village Agent service was perfect timing. Focused entirely on the needs of each individual, using creative ways to find solutions and raising the profile of rural isolation, health inequalities and poor access to basic services. 2020 and Covid brought us into the light as essential coordinators of grassroot volunteer support networks. That year also started a turning point for the future delivery of person-centred care across all previous boundaries in statutory services and the voluntary sector. The Community Wellbeing Hub was the solution and RIVIAM Digital Care liberated our way of working.
