GP with special Interest in Gynaecology

Anita is a General Practitioner in Oldham with a special interest in women’s health, Educational lead Northwest FDA, and ex. Clinical Director for Vascular and Medicine Optimisation at Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
She is an undergraduate trainer attached to the University of Manchester. Recently she has been appointed trainer for Physician Associates. She is the GP editor for the British Journal of Medical Practitioners and writes regularly in various GP magazines on clinical and practice development issues
She was a GP member of NICE Quality Standard Advisory Committee (QSAC) and Expert Advisors Panel for the NICE Centre for Guidelines for endometriosis.
Recently she has developed Endometriosis North Charity to raise awareness of Endometriosis.
She provided the prolapse service for the whole of the Oldham population and has won various awards for this service provision.
Anita served as a locality member in the West Pennine Local Medical Committee and was the Editor of the LMC newsletter. She is a GP appraiser for NHS Oldham.
Anita has also produced recognised works in Obstetrics and Gynaecology winning the British Medical Association Medical Book Award in 2014 first prize for “Gynaecology in Primary Care: A Practical Guide”.
Her other books mainly aimed at primary care are: COPD in Primary Care, Maximising Quality and Outcome Framework Quality Points and Peripheral Vascular Disease in Primary Care.
