Dr Barry Coakley

Having many years’ experience as a GP Partner and PCN Clinical Director, Dr Coakley expanded his role to leading ‘at Place’ within NHS Devon. Harnessing these skills to support wider ICB development and success, he subsequently moved to the position of Deputy Chief Medical Officer at BSW ICB, where he leads on Primary Care, Community Services, Mental Health and Children & Young People. In addition to this, he continues his patient-facing work as a GP in Devon. He is passionate about transformation and continuous improvement in General Practice, working with regional and national NHSE teams. He sits on several National Clinical Reference Groups, including Primary Care Patient Safety Group.
