Caroline qualified in medicine from Cambridge University in 1993 and also worked as a primary school teacher, after qualifying from the University of Hertfordshire in 2010. She has worked as a general practitioner in a variety of secure settings for the last 9 years and is currently Lead GP at HMP Bedford. Caroline has a passion for enabling people to be the best they can be, through medicine and education. To this end, she has produced a wide variety of online and printed resources, in her role as RCGP Clinical Champion for Healthcare in Secure Environments. Her writing style is wide-ranging and has included content for academic books on health inequalities and forensic medicine, Safer Prescribing in Prisons 2nd Edition, RCGP COVID-19 guidance for clinical care in secure environments, pictorial resources for service users and a regular Q and A health column for Inside Time, the national prison newspaper. She has felt privileged to work with inspiring colleagues in a clinical advisory capacity during the pandemic.
