Dr Felicity Young

Dr Felicity Young is a Consultant Nurse with over 40 years of nursing experience, including 33 years in sexual health services. After training as a Registered Mental Nurse and a Registered General Nurse, she completed midwifery training at City University, London. Felicity began working in sexual health in 1991 and has held various roles within the speciality, including Health Advisor and Clinical Nurse Specialist. She was among the first Nurse Practitioners and Consultant Nurses in integrated sexual health in the UK.

Her clinical interests include sexual and reproductive healthcare for individuals with a range of health and social complexities. Felicity is also committed to advancing nursing practice and is actively engaged in the education and professional development of other nurses, particularly at advanced and consultant level. She holds a Professional Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Portsmouth, where her thesis investigated HIV care in prison through exploring both patients' and professionals' experiences.
