It was great to join the Convenzis team again for the patient flow event. As always, the team were incredibly accommodating and happy to help. The quality of attendees is always of a high standard and relevant to the patient flow and to us also. We continue to have great discussions and footfall around our stand with no need to try and encourage people to come and see us. Dr Foti Blaher is the Chief Medical Officer at Correct Care Australasia, a private healthcare provider delivering primary healthcare to about 6000 adults and young people in Australia, a sister company to Correct Care UK and part of the Wellpath Group. He has been committed throughout his career to providing care to vulnerable people in challenging environments, both as a hand-on practitioner and as a high-level administrator. He has held senior and executive clinical roles in Australia including Senior Medical Officer for Custodial Medicine, Victoria Police; Medical Director, St Vincent’s Correctional Health and as a specialist consultant for Corrections Victoria during the development of their dedicated Justice Health Unit. He holds qualifications in aviation and hyperbaric medicine and has provided occupational medicine services to Victoria Police.
He has a strong leadership development focus with his clinicians, taking pride in attracting new talented professionals to the sector. He believes that in providing health services in correctional settings there should be a fundamental focus on quality, evidence-based care and continual process improvement supporting optimal health and well-being outcomes for patients while incarcerated and upon re-entry into the community. He has a broader personal interest in the relationship between public safety, security and health.
