My tech career began when I started creating medical apps as a young trainee doctor back in 2009. I realised early on that mobile would change the world of information and process management, and that medicine couldn’t remain immune to these changes.
I joined EMIS Health in 2016, with responsibility for clinical design: balancing workflow, decision support and safety to make sure our products provide the richest, most user-friendly and safest clinical interactions possible.
These days I consider myself a fully-fledged geek, but still thoroughly enjoy maintaining my clinical practice as a consultant in emergency medicine at Leeds. I’m often the oldest in the room now, but I still find myself pushing for change to improve user experience and clinical outcomes.
