Iain Brew has been a GP since 1995, working for five years in Shetland and four in a deprived area of Lincolnshire. Focussed on prison practice since 2001, he is a past Vice-Chair of the RCGP Secure Environments Group and Clinical Reference Group member. Iain has a special interest in hepatitis C and treated over 400 patients in prison throughout the interferon era and into the directly-acting antivirals available now. He was elected to fellowship of the RCGP in 2012 in recognition of this work. Now, in his role as the National Deputy Medical Director for Health in Justice with Care UK, he has been well-placed to lead on the #Elimination2025 plan for over 40 prisons in England.
