It was great to join the Convenzis team again for the patient flow event. As always, the team were incredibly accommodating and happy to help. The quality of attendees is always of a high standard and relevant to the patient flow and to us also. We continue to have great discussions and footfall around our stand with no need to try and encourage people to come and see us. Dr Ivan De Backer

At IDTechEx, Dr Ivan De Backer is a Technology Analyst with a focus on Life Sciences. His main activities include conducting target assessments, market forecasts and key player analysis for the delivery of research reports and consulting projects.
Ivan obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine from Imperial College London. His research identified the glucose-sensing function of an enzyme and discovered its role in the development of diabetes. He also holds a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Bath and completed a year-long internship at Janssen Pharmaceutica in his third year.
Ivan has a background in medical research and previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to IDTechEx Ivan was a Senior Researcher at Eisai, where he optimised laboratory protocols and developed novel research methods in the field of neurodegenerative disease.
