Dr Michael Rooney

Dr Rooney is Medical Director of Mastercall Healthcare, an out of Hospital Company based in Stockport. Mastercall provides a variety of primary care services in the Northwest and further afield. He was an NHS GP in Stockport from 1989 to 2017,and a founder member of Stockport Doctors Co-operative in 1996, which evolved into Mastercall. Like most in the GP Co-operative movement, founding a local organisation was necessary to survive as a GP and human. He has a long career of involvement in NHS management , from the early days of fundholding to current membership of the Local UECDB. When not working he plays occasional golf, runs slowly, cycles and walks dogs. He is an active parent, grandparent and carer for a frail elderly mother. Married to a clinical hypnotherapist, with one Junior Doctor and one Medical Negligence lawyer in his immediate family, he can legitimately claim to be an expert on Family Medicine.
