Neil was appointed as Executive Medical Director at The Christie NHS FT from November 2021, having been the Trust’s Associate Medical Director (Quality) since June 2017. Neil holds strategic positions both regionally and nationally and has a proven track record on influencing cancer policy. He has significant expertise in fostering clinical engagement, delivering transformation and safeguarding quality and patient safety through robust clinical governance.
Neil retains a clinical practice as a consultant clinical oncologist with an interest in lung cancer. During his career, Neil has led practice changing research in lung cancer and mesothelioma. He has extensive system leadership experience and was the inaugural Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance Clinical Director for Lung Cancer from January 2014 to June 2017. In this role he was responsible for delivering transformation of lung cancer pathways and multidisciplinary working, improving access and reducing waiting times for patients across the region.
