Dr. Priya Kumar, a practicing GP Partner at Kumar Medical Centre since 2013, is known for her leadership in population health management, digital health innovation, and addressing health disparities. She has held several influential roles within Slough and Frimley ICB, including Primary Care Strategy Lead, Urgent Care Lead, and Health Inequalities Lead. Her clinical leadership has been pivotal in addressing health inequalities through initiatives like the Multigenerational Household Project and the Wider Determinants of Health Questionnaire.
For the past eight years, Dr. Kumar has been the Clinical Digital Lead for the Connected Care team, working on a secure, real-time patient information-sharing record across both health and social care, while further enhancing the population health analytics platform. In 2023, as Transformational Clinical Digital Lead, she received the 'Digital Innovator of the Year' award at the HSJ Digital Awards for her innovative use of the John Hopkins segmentation model in system redesign to address health inequalities on a population level.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Kumar is an active member of the Thames Valley Royal College of General Practitioners Faculty Board, served as an NHSE Peer Ambassador, and previously co-chaired the Asian Professionals National Alliance group for the South region. She is dedicated to integrating health and social care sectors and collaborates closely with public health and voluntary sector partners to develop innovative pathways that improve population health outcomes.
