Edward Thomas

Edward is an experienced director and senior leader currently working at an executive level within education. He leads on Operations, inclusive of Estates, H&S, Income generation and Procurement for Academy Transformation Trust, A Multi Academy Trust with 21 Academies across the UK. Edward has 10 years’ experience of working within the education sector and for a MAT during periods of significant growth. During this time, Edward has developed and implemented strategies to improve the management of estates, allocation of capital funding, project management and procurement of high value operational service contracts. This is in addition to securing significant funding and delivering large scale capital projects across multiple funding streams.

Since October 2013 Edward has secured more than £65,000,000 of condition Capital funding for the Trust by tripling our annual capital allocation from the ESFA leading to ATT receiving the highest level of investment of all Multi Academy Trusts within the UK. In addition, he has written successful bids across the ACMF, CIF and PSBP2 programmes. In the case of PSBP2 Edward secured self-delivery of two projects from the ESFA including the delivery of a £14,800,000 project to build a 1350 place new build academy in Mildenhall, Suffolk which forms part of a wider £40,00,000 multi-faceted community hub bringing all public services to one site backed by the Cabinet Office's One Public Estate initiative and is the first of its kind in the UK.
