Filipe is the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) and Deputy CCIO at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) and is responsible to drive the Trust’s Digital Agenda for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals, including that associated to their new Electronic Patient Record – Cerner Millennium.

Holds his Nursing Registration since 2014 in two Countries (England and Portugal). Filipe is enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with a unique combination of clinical and operational experience in the acute healthcare setting. Some of the roles that he assumed over the years include Clinical Site Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Site Lead and Associate Director of Operations for ePR and Digital Transformation. In addition, Filipe has over 10 years’ experience as a certified trainer, having led various clinical and non-clinical education and training programmes in health and social care settings.


Filipe has an expertise in clinical transformation and a proven track record of advancing clinical quality and patient safety through the effective utilization of digitally-enabled initiatives. One of his professional ambitions is to be part of National projects to be able to influence and improve Nursing practice, particularly utilising digital solutions toenable and improve patients experience and outcomes. Filipe is currently one of the NHS Digital Nursing Programme South East Representatives
