I have had a variety of roles in and out of the NHS, across a variety of sectors. Having worked with the Trust as a General Manager since 2014, I took on a more outward facing role as the Senior programme manager, working with prisons, to support the healthcare of the men who attend the Trust for care from the 4 South Yorkshire prisons.
Over the past 2 years I have continued to work across boundaries, in the Trust, in the prisons and in the community. Focussing on improving clinical pathways, joint working, engagement, education and training opportunities. All with the aim to get better access, timely care and improved health for these men in prison.
Discussions about using video for consultations in prisons started last year, only to be frustrated by lack of interagency agreements and paperwork.
With perseverance, finding the people who could help to deliver the vision and having dogged determination, we are now about to deliver video clinics into prisons across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire prisons.
I hope you will join me to discuss how we have done this.
