Johnievic Valdez

Johnievic is an experienced quality and safety professional. Among his notable qualifications include US board healthcare quality professional (CPHQ), patient safety (CPPS), lean six sigma black belt practitioner, UK’s Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IRSM) and Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Johnievic joined the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) as the Head of Risk Management and Patient Safety. HMC is the main provider of secondary and tertiary healthcare in Qatar managing 13 hospitals across the country. He was part of the executive team responsible for opening of Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, a 118 bed (including the 16 bedded ICU) and 6 theatre hospital which offered both planned and emergency surgery with their own emergency department on site. This facility later transformed into the national COVID19 treatment facility that catered to all moderate to critical COVID19 cases across the country.

Johnievic have been a senior advisor and consultant in quality, health and safety, for some notable organizations like Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron and Japan Gas Corporation, and have been notable and recognized in his contribution to create and sustain safety culture, implemented the Goal Zero accidents and Life Saving Rules in these critical industries.

He is currently mentoring and coaching various groups in quality and improvement projects in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and in Sri Lanka.
