Jon has twenty-five years’ experience working in the public sector and academia. Jon has been conducting research focused on the health and justice sector workforce since 2009. He wrote the UK Public Sector Skills Assessment and the Financial Services Sector Skills Assessment in 2012. His research was cited in the consultation for 2017 Policing and Crime Act, with a number of recommendations making it into the final legislation. His recent research has centred on workforce planning, mental health, evidence-based policing and emergency services collaboration. His peer-reviewed paper entitled ‘Patients or Prisoners: Implications of Overlooking Mental Health Needs of Female Offenders’ was published in February 2019, in the British Journal of Community Justice.
